The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940
By John Bishop
The creative team responsible for a recent Broadway flop (in which three chorus girls were murdered by the mysterious “Stage Door Slasher”) assemble for a backer’s audition at the manor of a wealthy “angel” donor. The house is filled with sliding panels, secret passages, and a German maid who is apparently four different people. All of this figures in to the comedic mayhem that strikes when the infamous “Slasher” makes an entrance. As the actors, crew, and director prepare for their performance, a blizzard breaks out and bodies begin to drop in plain sight. With no help from the bumbling inspector, will the remaining players unmask the slasher before it’s too late?
